Polyurethane also known as urethane. This technology enables the production of injection moulded like items. Depending on the mould, items may have undercuts and nutsets for component mounting such as circuit boards. This production method allows parts to be produced without the high tooling cost of injection moulding tooling. Best suited for low volume and evolving items.
Polyurethane parts are created pouring urethane into the mould using vacuum and/or pressure.
Parts are then removed and finished. Some parts may require post process painting.
Parts may be over moulded onto an existing item. Urethane is available in varying Shore Scale A & D.
